Hannah Morrison: My Life In Golf

What is your role in golf?

I’m a professional golfer. I turned pro in March 2022 and I’m currently competing on LET Access tour.

How did you get into golf and your current role?

On a summer holiday, my mum took me down to the driving range and I loved it!

When we got back to England my mum took to me the local junior academy. I struggled to maintain going as I also did lots of other sports.

At the age of 12, I went back to the junior academy where I was hooked. I never looked back and I got my first handicap a year later.

After winning the England Golf Women’s Champion or Champions at Woodhall Spa at the end of 2021, I decided to turn professional to pursue a playing career.

Do you get time to play and practice?

I currently work in a Pro Shop at Hazel Grove as Assistant Professional. When I’m not working I try to get out on the course as much as possible.

I have an attachment at Mere Golf Resort, in Cheshire. This is where I spend most of my time practicing.

What is your current handicap index and how low have you been?

I handed in my amateur status playing off +1.

What is your favourite golfing memory?

My favourite golfing memories come from my 2019 season where I won Derbyshire Girls Matchplay, Derbyshire Girls Championship, Women’s Matchplay Championship and Midland Girls Championship.

This was a great season for me.

In 2019, I also competed on the Pro Tour as an amateur. This was great to play alongside professionals, gain experience and confidence.

Finally, what is your dream fourball to tee it up with?

My dream fourball would be…Ann Van Dam, Nelly Korda and Tiger Woods. It would be great to watch and learn from the best on the world
