The Irish Open is the 17th event of the 2022 DP World Tour season and is one of the key preparation events for the 2022 Open Championship.

The tournament takes place at Mount Juliet Golf Estate in Kilkenny, Ireland, once again having returned to the venue in 2021.

Lucas Herbert is the reigning champion after winning the tournament in 2021.

The event was first held in 1927 first joined the European Tour in 1975.

Former winners of the Irish Open include Ben Crenshaw, Mark James, Sam Torrance, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam, Jose Maria Olazabal, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Sergio García, Thomas Bjorn, Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Paul Casey, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm.

The Irish Open golf will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at Mount Juliet Golf Estate in Kilkenny, Ireland. There is a cut at the 36-hole stage.

• Day 2 – Friday, July 1
• Day 3 – Saturday, July 2
• Day 4 – Sunday, July 3

The tournament carries a prize fund of $6,000,000.
