The 2022 Italian Open golf takes place from September 15-18. Watch an Italian Open live stream of all the action from the DP World Tour event.

The event, which is also known as the DS Automobiles Italian Open, is part of the 2022 DP World Tour season.

It was first formed in 1925 as a national championship and joined the now DP World Tour in 1975.

The event takes place at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy, with the venue staging the Italian Open for the third time. The course will also stage the 2023 Ryder Cup.

Nicolai Hojgaard is the reigning champion after winning the tournament for a second time in 2021.

Former winners of the event include Tony Jacklin, Mark James, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Sam Torrance, Greg Norman, Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Francesco Molinari and Tyrell Hatton.

Italian Open Golf Format & Schedule

The Italian Open golf will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at the par 71 Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy. There is a cut after the opening two rounds.

  • Day 1 – Thursday, September 15
  • Day 2 – Friday, September 16
  • Day 3 – Saturday, September 17
  • Day 4 – Sunday, September 18

The tournament carries a prize fund of €3,000,000.
