Knapp had previously won three times on the PGA Tour Canada and earned promotion to the PGA Tour for 2024 as a 2023 Korn Ferry graduate.
He made his PGA Tour breakthrough when surviving a nervy final round at Vidanta Vallarta to finish on 19-under par, two shots clear of Sami Valimaki to win the Mexico Open.
Knapp’s only other previous professional wins came in the 2019 Canada Life Open, 2019 GolfBC Championship and 2022 CRMC Championship.
The victory moved Knapp from 101st to 52nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
