Matt Wallace ended a five year wait for victory when landing the title at the Corales Puntacana Championship in March 2023. A look at Matt Wallace: What’s In The Bag.

Wallace produced a stunning six-under par final round in the Dominican Republic to claim a one shot victory over Nicolai Hojgaard in the Corales Puntacana Championship.

The Englishman finished on 19-under par at Corales Golf Club, one clear of Hojgaard with long-time contenders Tyler Duncan and Samuel Stephens a shot further back.

It was Wallace’s first PGA Tour success and his 11th as a professional including four DP World Tour victories.

He won six times on the Alps Tour in 2016 having taken the titles at the Dreamland Pyramids Open, Tunisian Golf Open, Gösser Open, Vigevano Open, Open Frassanelle and Alps Tour Grand Final.

Wallace graduated to the Challenge Tour and DP World Tour and won the combined 2017 Open de Portugal as well as a trio of titles in 2018 at the Hero Indian Open, BMW International Open and Made in Denmark.

The victory moved Wallace from 175th to 117th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
