Thorbjornsen has been regarded as one of the PGA Tour’s rising stars and the American has broken his duck with a two-shot victory in the Rocket Classic.
He finished on 18-under par after a final round 63 at Detroit Golf Club with Thorbjornsen edging Xander Schauffele by two shots.
Thorbjornsen earned his PGA Tour card after topping the PGA Tour University rankings for 2024, turning professional in June of that year as a result.
At Stanford University, Thorbjornsen enjoyed a glittering collegiate career winning the 2021 Massachusetts Amateur and Western Amateur, 2022 OFCC Fighting Illini Invite, 2023 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships and 2024 Cabo Collegiate Invitational.
He was also the 2018 US Junior Amateur and represented the United States in the 2022 Eisenhower Trophy and 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup teams.
