TaylorMade P7MB Irons debut on tour

TaylorMade P7MB Irons

TaylorMade P7MB irons are set for release later in 2020 after debuting on the PGA Tour.

Having first been seen in the bag of female star Charley Hull on the Clutch Pro Tour, Rory McIlroy debuted the P7MB irons at The Memorial Tournament.

TaylorMade have released no details of the irons, although did reveal in a Facebook and Twitter video that the P7MBs were part of McIlroy’s set up at Muirfield Village.

“Everyone loves a new set of irons, even Rory McIlroy,” TaylorMade posted. “Chris Trott’s got the full breakdown of what’s in his bag this week at Muirfield. #TeamTaylorMade.”

TaylorMade P7MB Irons Design

Images of the TaylorMade irons show the P7MBs strike a resemblance to the P7TW prototypes created specifically for 15-time major winner Tiger Woods.

The musclebacks have a blade look to them, but have some clear differences from the irons Woods plays.

In the P7MB irons, the musclepad has a more angled look to it, while the sole is more traditional in design than that which Woods uses.

TaylorMade P7MB Verdict

It is more than three years since TaylorMade launch a new blade. But this appears to be it.
