TaylorMade P7MB Irons Review (NEW 2023 Model)

TaylorMade P7MB Irons 2023

TaylorMade P7MB irons were first released in 2020 and have now been given a makeover and relaunched with a new model for 2023.

The musclebacks were initially developed from the P7TW prototypes created specifically for 15-time major winner Tiger Woods and offer a classic look for unbeatable ball-striking.

They are part of the P series along with the P770 and P7MC irons, with the new 2023 model now featuring a shorter blade length, a narrower sole and backbar geometry for the most pure of ball striking.

What TaylorMade say about the 2023 P7MB Irons:

“Built for golfers who crave performance in its purest form. Each strike with the new P7MB is sensory overload, delivering unfiltered feedback and best-in-class feel.

“The all-new P7MB was designed for the best ball strikers in the world who demand surgical control and precision shot making.

“A shorter blade length, narrower sole width, and progressive offset create a minimalist profile that’s designed to control shot shape and trajectory.

“Inspired by Tour, P7MB fits the eye of discerning players. The backbar geometry positions mass directly behind the face to support the point of impact and elevate feel.

“A symmetrical design delivers artful aesthetics that create aspiration and inspire confidence.”

TaylorMade P7MB Irons Specs & Design

TaylorMade took everything good about the P7TW prototypes and crafted them into a top-class muscleback blade design in 2020.

Now that design has been honed further with a number of changes to create the latest generation released for the 2023 season.

The forged irons have retained the familiar blade shape that low-handicap golfers and professionals prefer, but are now compact with a shorter length to the club head.

The compact club head is forged head from 1025 carbon steel and the Compact Grain Forging process has given the P7MB irons a softer feel.

The P7MBs have a thin topline once again for a butter knife like look and now have a thinner sole width than the previous generation.

TaylorMade have also opted for a progressive offset across the irons set for a real minimalist look, with the combination of improvements enhancing ball striking, shot shape and the trajectory too.

The P7MBs are available in 3-iron (20 degrees), 4-iron (23 degrees), 5-iron (26 degrees), 6-iron (30 degrees), 7-iron (34 degrees), 8-iron (38 degrees), 9-iron (42 degrees) and Pitching Wedge (47 degrees).

Verdict: Are the TaylorMade P7MB irons 2023 any good?

TaylorMade came up with something special in the original P7MBs, and the latest version of the bladed irons are even more impressive.

It’s hard to find improvements when the previous generation is among the top performers, but TaylorMade have managed to make incremental gains in the 2023 P7MB irons.

These are for real quality performers with the purest of ball striking, which has been improved. Also expect even more workability and shot shape than before too and add even more to your game.
