Mizuno RB Max Golf Balls Design & Features

The RB Max is the successor to the RB566, featuring the new 336 AXIALFLOW Dimples pattern instead of the 566 that featured in the previous model.

The new aerodynamic package is optimized to minimize drag and maximize flight efficiency, and ensure a fast and stable flight that is less affected by wind and therefore suited to all playing conditions.

The updated Dual Construction Butadiene Rubber Core has been refined in this version to deliver a balance performance when it comes to soft feel and high velocity speed.

The dual-core setup allows the RB Max to provide exceptional feel on full shots, while still delivering explosive distances.

The outer Ionomer Cover further provides a superior greenside feel without compromising on durability.

The three-piece construction is designed to suit golfers with mid to high swing speeds who want a tour-level ball at a fraction of the cost the more elite balls the RB Tour and RB Tour X.

Mizuno RB Max Golf Ball Review: Are they any good?

The Mizuno RB Max balls are a great all-round performers, providing extra yards off the tee, improved accuracy on approach shots and a more satisfying feel.

The ball flight is incredibly stable thanks to the new dimple design and the short game control was equally impressive.

We achieved expected distance for a mid-compression ball with this suiting mid-to-high swing speeds. If you have a slower swing speed, you are better look at a softer compression.

What Mizuno says about the RB Max ball:

“Mizuno has unveiled an improved version of its RB566 Balanced Performance ball and a completely new high-speed ball, the RB MAX

“The RB MAX is an entirely new ball for Mizuno – combining a Tour ball’s speed and launch characteristics with a more durable cover.

“Created using a new DualCore – with a soft inner to enhance feel, with a firmer, resilient outer, allowing greater energy transfer.

“The RB MAX also features Mizuno’s AXIALFLOW dimple to reduce drag – for enhanced distance and penetration through the wind.

“The same dimple design used on Mizuno’s tour use balls – low on drag for a fast, penetrating flight on full shots.

“With its softer inner core and firmer outer, the RB Max is able to produce fast ball speeds, with a great feel from full shots.

“For a blend of greenside feel and all-year-round durability. AXIALFLOW DIMPLES Within the DUAL DIMPLE, the smaller dimple works to slow the velocity of the air, increasing lift.”
