The Odyssey Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Max Stripe putter and Max 1 putter have been unveiled as an alternative to the popular L.A.B. Golf DF3 putter.
LAB Golf have emerged as a real contender in the putter market with some unique designs and Odyssey are pushing the boundaries with their own very similar alternative in the Zero Torque sector.
Part of the Zero Torque Square 2 Square range, the Odyssey Ai-ONE Max Stripe and Max 1 (without the white stripe) were officially launched in May 2025. They have also been joined by the Square 2 Square Tri-Hot putters.
They closely resemble the L.A.B. Golf DF3 in design terms but add all of Odyssey’s go-to technologies that have been so successful in recently other Zero Torque launches.
Odyssey Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Max Stripe & Max 1 Putter Design
The Square 2 Square series is known as Zero Torque with Odyssey launching three models in March 2025. The Max Stripe and Max 1 were officially added to the options in May 2025 after a tour validation period.
The putters incorporate a zero-torque, toe-up design, which closely resembles the L.A.B. Golf DF3 that has been successful on tour.

Both putters are center-shafted with a focus on minimizing torque, ensuring a stable stroke for golfers who prefer this style of design.
The Zero-Torque design reduces twisting during the stroke and the centre shaft positioned just behind the leading edge and center of the putter face is for balance and alignment.
The putters boast a high moment of inertia (MOI) exceeding 6,300 g-cm², which achieved through strategic mass distribution including high-density sole weights positioned at the heel and toe.

The design aims to enhance forgiveness and stability, particularly on off-center strikes and give you the best chance to master the putting greens.
The putters feature the Ai-ONE face technology with an innovative insert that is 21% more accurate than previous Odyssey face inserts.
The Ai-ONE insert combines an aluminum backer with a White Hot urethane striking surface and delivers consistent ball speeds across the face while maintaining the soft feel.

A built-in 3.3 degree forward shaft lean is incorporated to preset the hands in a forward-press position to reduce face opening during the stroke.
The Max 1 putter features a minimalist navy blue PVD finish with a single white alignment line, while the Max Stripe incorporates Odyssey’s Versa 90 alignment system with a bold white stripe across the top.
Odyssey Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Max Stripe & Max 1 Putters Review: Are they any good?
The launch of the two models represents Odyssey’s effort to compete directly with L.A.B. Golf’s popular designs, most notably the DF3 with the unique design almost replicated.
While incorporating their own alignment technologies and aesthetics, the design and features of the putter head have been born out of L.A.B.’s emergence as a real player in the market.

The Ai-ONE face design brings Odyssey’s impressive ball striking to the party, while the zero-torque design elements help maintain a square clubhead and reduce twisting.
The Max 1 and Max Stripe putters are excellent new additions to the Zero Torque range and we’re expecting big things of these two bad boys.
