Ping G440 irons are new for 2025 as the successor to the G430 range, with Ping finding even more improvement from their leading game improvement set.
Launched along with the G440 drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, the irons hit the market in January 2025 as a new option for mid to high-handicap golfers.
The new model will replace the G430 irons and has been made with a more player-friendly design including a thinner face than in any G series irons.
Increased ball speeds, a low and back CG, higher launch and longer carrying distance are what Ping have managed to unearth in the latest design.
Ping G440 Irons Specs & Design
The G440 irons will be part game-improving sector and Ping are expected to have found ways of improving both forgiveness and distance in the new release.
The new model features a more compact and clean look compared to the already-impressive G430 irons design, and a key design feature is the new face design.
The thinner, shallower face is now 9% thinner than previous models with a lower face height, resulting in increased ball speed even on off-center ball strikes.

Weight savings in the face design have allowed Ping to move the CG low and back – and increase the MOI for forgiveness – for a higher launch angle and more carry through the air than in the previous edition.
The cavity-back construction includes the next generation of the PurFlex cavity badge, which creates improved feel as well as a premium finish.
A notable change has seen Ping add 1/8-inch to the length of the 4-iron, 5-iron and 6-iron and improved gapping. That includes a simplified wedge set up with only four choices instead of five for better short game performance.

The lofts now range from 4-iron (18 degrees) to pitching wedge (41 degrees), as well as three other milled-face wedge options (46.5 degrees, 52 degrees and 56 degrees).
Ping G440 Irons Review: Are they are good?
The G430 irons were a solid performer for mid-to-high handicap golfers and Ping have managed to find improvements in the G440s thanks to some clever design tweaks.
The key is the thinner face, which like in the drivers series delivers increased ball speeds compared to the previous model.

The more compact profile is pleasing on the eye while the simplified lofts make it easier for handicap golfers to get the right setup with smaller choice.
All in all, a great addition to the market for 2025.
