The Vice Golf VGP02C Center Mallet putter is a new addition launched in late 2024 with the center shafted model extremely forgiving.
Vice previous unveiled the blade VGP01 putter and mallet VGP02 putter earlier in 2024 in a first foray into the sector, and a new center shafted model is the latest off the production line.
Like the other putters, the VGP02C has been 10 years in the making in Vice’s design labs and this 100% CNC milled putter has been launched as the most face-balanced of the trio of options.
Suited to a straight-back and straight-through putting stroke, the center mallet is the most stable design from Vice with a high MOI and maximum forgiveness on the greens.
Vice Golf VGP02C Design & Specs
The Vice Golf VGP02C putter joins the mallet designs with this center shafted option offering different characteristics to the standard mallet.
The model has the same traditional winged mallet look as the VGP02, but this C version has a center shaft for an alternative setup.

This putter is face-balanced and a high MOI for enhanced stability and control and minimum twisting on impact, and the center shaft makes it suited to a straight-back, straight-through putting stroke.
All Vice putters have a 100% CNC milled face and the C model is no different with the design also featuring a solid block of aluminum for the main body and stainless steel for the wings.
The V alignment aids between the wings is a nice element to the design and helps line up putts from any distance and get the rolling on the right line.

The VGP02C mallet is available in six different colour options: Arctic Trim, Blue Rush, Crimsom Trim, Neon Stealth, Shadow Silver and Purple Majesty.

Vice Golf VGP02C Mallet Putter Review: Is it any good?
The VGP02C is the third model in the Vice Golf putters range with the center shafted design joining a traditional mallet and blade.
The Center Mallet is designed to suit golfers with a straight-back and straight-through stroke with the location of the shaft helping to deliver that.

It has a high MOI, just like the standard mallet model, and is very forgiving with the overall make up of the putter helping to reduce twisting through impact.
It is the forgiveness that really stands out from the Vice Golf mallet putters and with a solid consistency when it comes to ball striking and distance control it is a real all-round performer.

What Vice says about the VGP02C putter:
“100% CNC milled, designed using data from thousands of amateurs to combine unmatched quality with the needs of everyday players.
“With over 10 years of real amateur fitting data supplied by HIO Labs in Munich, our mission is clear: to build clubs designed specifically for normal golfers.
“By focusing on the needs and challenges of everyday golfers, we’ve optimized our putters to enhance performance and enjoyment. This is golf equipment made for you, not the pros. Experience the difference that true amateur-focused design can make.
“A face-balanced, center-shafted putter is designed to minimize twisting and promote a straight-back, straight-through stroke.

“The even weight distribution between the heel and toe prevents the head from twisting at impact, offering more stability.
“This design is ideal for golfers who struggle with directional consistency, especially those prone to pushing putts. By maintaining a square face through the stroke, it helps reduce mishits and improve overall accuracy.
“The tapered steel wings shift the center of gravity away from the club face, increased further due to the utilization of aluminum for the main body. This results in a high MOI putter, while sustaining club face positional feel, usually lost by traditional mallets.
“On impact, the VGP02 produces a slightly dampened, lower pitch and muted sound with maximized resonating feel.
“Initially tested exclusively with normal golfers, we gradually honed in on what we believe to be the perfect impact feeling which provides accurate positional face feedback, across both axes of the putter face.
“The sound and feel of the VGP02 combine to teach players to consistently find the sweet spot of the clubface.”
