The 2022 The American Express takes place from January 20-23 at La Quinta Country Club in California. Watch a The American Express live stream of all the action from the PGA Tour event.

The American Express is the first PGA Tour event of the year to take place on mainland United States.

It takes place across three courses at La Quinta Country Club, the PGA West Stadium Course and the PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course.

The event dates back to 1960 when known as the Palm Springs Classic. It has subsequently been known as the CareerBuilder Challenge, Bob Hope Desert Classic, Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and the Humana Challenge.

Si Woo Kim is the defending champion having won the title in 2021.

The American Express Golf Format & Schedule

The American Express will be played over four rounds / 72 holes across three different courses.

Players rotate around La Quinta Country Club, PGA West Stadium Course and PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course for the first three days.

The Stadium Course then hosts the post-cut final round.

• Day 2 – Friday, January 21
• Day 3 – Saturday, January 22
• Day 4 – Sunday, January 23

The tournament carries a prize fund of $7,600,000 USD.
