TOTO Japan Classic 2026: Who Are The Leading Betting Odds Favourites?

Portland Classic Trophy Akie Iwai

The LPGA Tour’s 2026 TOTO Japan Classic takes place at Taiheiyo Club’s Minori Course in Omitama, Ibaraki, from November 5‑8.

The tournament completes the LPGA Tour’s Asian swing, with 78 players competing over 72 holes without a cut for a $2.1 million purse.

The course is scheduled to play as a par 72 measuring 6,598 yards and the field comprises 43 LPGA Tour members and 35 JLPGA Tour members.

Miyu Yamashita heads the betting market following her victory at the Maybank Championship on Sunday.

Jeeno Thitikul is her closest challenger, followed by Akie Iwai, Hyo Joo Kim, defending champion Nasa Hataoka and reigning AIG Women’s Open champion Shiho Kuwaki.

Miyu Yamashita

Miyu Yamashita is the clear favourite and arrives with the strongest immediate form after successfully defending the Maybank Championship last week.

The victory was her third LPGA Tour title of 2026 and fourth overall of the year, following wins at the Meijer LPGA Classic and CPKC Women’s Open and LET’s Aramco Korea Championship.

Yamashita now has the opportunity to turn that momentum into back-to-back victories.

The challenge will be maintaining her scoring rhythm after travelling from Kuala Lumpur, rather than allowing the demands of a successful title defence to interrupt it.

Jeeno Thitikul

World No.2 Jeeno Thitikul sits second in the market and is the biggest threat to Yamashita.

She has won three times on the LPGA Tour this season, at the Honda LPGA Thailand, Mizuho Americas Open and LOTTE Championship.

Her LOTTE victory is the most recent of those wins and came a month ago prior to the Asian swing of the season.

Akie Iwai

Akie Iwai enjoyed a top‑10 finish in last week’s Maybank Championship, finishing tied ninth in Malaysia.

The closing 67 is an encouraging sign heading into a home event, while her weekend total of eight-under shows that she was building momentum rather than fading.

She enters this week as the world No.18 and is a genuine title contender in front of a Japanese crowd.

Hyo Joo Kim

World No. 6 Hyo Joo Kim has opted to play in this event over the Aramco China Championship in her home country.

Kim has winning form during 2026, including a successful defence of the Ford Championship. She also has a notable TOTO Japan Classic result on her record, finishing runner-up to Ai Suzuki in 2019.

If she can rediscover her form from earlier in the season, Kim can go close to victory in Japan.

Nasa Hataoka

Nasa Hataoka returns as defending champion with strong hopes of going back-to-back in her home event.

She won the rain-shortened 2025 edition at 15-under, defeating Yuna Araki on the first play-off hole after the final round was cancelled because of unplayable conditions.

It was her second TOTO Japan Classic title, following her victory in 2018, and the world No.21 has the experience to go close again.

Shiho Kuwaki

Shiho Kuwaki completes the featured group and arrives as the reigning AIG Women’s Open champion and now a world top-10 player.

Kuwaki also has strong history in this event, finishing joint runner-up in 2023 at 21-under, one shot behind Mone Inami.

She is enjoying a dream 2026 season and victory on home soil in Japan would top things off.
