Vice Golf VGP01 Blade Putter Review (NEW 2024 Release)

Vice Golf VGP01 Blade Putter Review

The Vice Golf VGP01 blade putter is a first release from the manufacturer following 10 years of development. How does the CNC milled design perform?

Largely known for their range of Vice golf balls, a switch into golf club design has been made with the VGP02 putter and the blade equivalent VGP01 launched in 2024.

The putters have been created specifically for everyday golfers with 10 years of real amateur fitting data from HIO Labs in Munich used.

The VGP01 putter is crafted with precision and dedication, with the blade model focused on enhancing performance and enjoyment for the average golfer. Does it deliver the goods?

Vice Golf VGP01 Putter Design & Specs

The VGP01 putter from Vice is a stylish and high-end blade design made from 100% forged steel with a CNC milled finish.

The quality of the putter, which is up there with the likes of Scotty Cameron and Odyssey Milled models, provides durability but with a refined look that the modern golfers requires.

The CNC milled clubface provides a stable, reliable stroke time after time while the weight distribution has been meticulously optimized to increase forgiveness on the greens.

A key design element is its slightly elongated top profile, which increases the moment of inertia (MOI) – and forgiveness – and allows for a larger alignment aid and better stability.

The soft forged steel construction provides a natural putter face opening, while maintaining the stability required to square the face at impact thanks to a mid-high toe hang set up.

The putter comes with a long alignment aid line for added help on the greens with a V position on the top of the head in the colour of the model.

The VGP01 blade is available in five different colour options: Midnight Silver, Neon Stealth, Patriot Silver, Midnight Blossom and Shadow Frost.

Vice Golf VGP01 Blade Putter Review: Is it any good?

It might have been 10 years in the making, but Vice have come up with a blade putter that performs on the greens as good as any new release this year.

The putter has been created with optimized weight distribution and high MOI result and we found it delivers a consistent and reliable putting stroke and it is relatively easy to start the ball on-line every time.

You get accurate positional face feedback at impact, while the enhanced feel and sound at impact, with a higher pitch that similar models, means you know the quality of the stroke instantly.

Given it is designed with the everyday golfer in mind, the price tag of $270 puts it at the higher end of the scale and perhaps puts it out of reach of the very market it is aimed at.

“A slightly elongated top profile bumps the MOI while providing a larger canvas to create a significantly larger alignment aid.

“The geometry of the VGP01 Blade putter is the incarnation of over 100 test iterations, and over 1000 hours of concise testing, with the objective of manufacturing a putter that delivers un-seen levels of impact feedback.”
