Vice Golf VGP02 Mallet Putter Review

The Vice Golf VGP02 mallet putter is a first foray into flat stick design from the brand and is the culmination of 10 years of development. Is the new release any good?

Best known for their range of Vice golf balls, a switch into golf club design has been made with the VGP02 putter and the blade equivalent VGP01 putter launched in 2024.

Vice have ensured each component of the putter is meticulously engineered to ensure precision and reliability on the greens with maximum forgiveness over a putt. Does it match the price tag?

Vice Golf VGP02 Design & Specs

The Vice Golf VGP02 putter is a mallet design that is 100% CNC milled and up there with the premium brands on the market.

The model, which has a traditional winged mallet look, has been designed using advanced manufacturing processes to combine unmatched quality with the needs of everyday players.

Vice have taken 10 years worth of data and research and incorporated it into the design of a very forgiving mallet putter that delivers time after time.

The putter’s development included a meticulous study of weight distribution to maximize MOI (Moment of Inertia) and create a reliable, repeatable putting stroke.

Each head takes six hours to mill from a solid block of aluminum for the main body, while stainless steel is used for the wings to ensure the high MOI for enhanced stability and control.

The V alignment aids between the wings is a nice design and offers a new visual cues to deliver the putter through with a solid stroke.

The VGP02 mallet is available in eight different colour options: Neon Stealth, Arctic Trim, Blue Rush, Crimsom Trim, Emerald Dynasty, Purple Whisperer, Shadow Silver and Purple Majesty.

Vice Golf VGP02 Mallet Putter Review: Is it any good?

The VGP02 putter is designed to deliver pinpoint accuracy and a superior sensory experience and Vice Golf have largely achieved that.

There is a good balance between ball striking, forgiveness and consistency with distance control that amateurs of the game will welcome – especially given that that is who Vice are aiming it at.

There is a slightly dampened, lower pitch sound with a muted feel on impact compared to other putters in the similar marketplace.

The one off putting thing is the price tag, when you consider this is Vice’s first putter to hit the market. At $320-$340 depending on colour, it needs to do the business to be deemed value for money.
