Nishimura had never finished won before in her career but produced a record-equalling performance at Pinnacle Country Club.
The Japanese star posted a 54-hole total of 21-under in the 2026 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, leaving her five clear of Aki Iwai, Chanettee Wannasaen and In Gee Chun.
Nishimura won six times on the LPGA Tour of Japan in her homeland prior to securing an LPGA Tour card in 2023.
She won the Mitsubishi Electric/Hisako Higuchi Ladies Golf Tournament in 2020 and the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup, Sumitomo Life Vitality Ladies Tokai Classic and Miyagi TV Cup Dunlop Ladies Open Golf Tournament in 2021.
The success continued in 2022 when she won the Nichirei Ladies and Nippon Ham Ladies Classic in Japan.
