2026 Presidents Cup Teams (USA vs Internationals)

Presidents Cup Flag

Team USA and the Internationals will clash in the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club in Illinois from September 24-27. A look at the 2026 Presidents Cup teams.

The 16th Presidents Cup will be played in the Chicago area, with Brandt Snedeker captaining the United States and Geoff Ogilvy leading the International side.

Team USA are the defending champions after their 18.5-11.5 victory at Royal Montreal in 2024 and will be bidding for another victory on Medinah Country Club’s No. 3 Course.

Neither side has been finalised, but the leading six players are in line for automatic qualification, with both captains then set to make six wildcard selections.

United States Presidents Cup Team

  • Brandt Snedeker (Captain)

Projected Automatic Qualifiers

  • Scottie Scheffler
  • Cameron Young
  • Russell Henley
  • Sam Burns
  • Ben Griffin
  • Collin Morikawa

Potential Captain’s Picks

  • Chris Gotterup
  • J.J. Spaun
  • Wyndham Clark
  • Justin Thomas
  • Xander Schauffele
  • Akshay Bhatia

The USA team is made up of six automatic qualifiers, determined by Presidents Cup points accumulated from FedExCup points across the qualifying period.

The U.S. automatic-qualification deadline is August 23, following the BMW Championship.

Scottie Scheffler has built a commanding lead in the U.S. standings, with Cameron Young, Russell Henley, Sam Burns, Ben Griffin and Collin Morikawa currently filling the other automatic places.

Chris Gotterup and J.J. Spaun are both right on the automatic-qualification bubble and could still play their way into the top six.

Captain Brandt Snedeker would then have major decisions to make over established names such as Wyndham Clark, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele, as well as rising left-hander Akshay Bhatia.

International Presidents Cup Team

  • Geoff Ogilvy (Captain)

Projected Automatic Qualifiers

  • Si Woo Kim
  • Ryan Fox
  • Hideki Matsuyama
  • Min Woo Lee
  • Tom Kim
  • Adam Scott

Potential Captain’s Picks

  • Corey Conners
  • Nico Echavarria
  • Jason Day
  • Ryo Hisatsune
  • Nick Taylor
  • Sungjae Im

The International team is set to comprise six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks from Geoff Ogilvy.

The automatic places will go to the top six eligible non-European players in the Official World Golf Ranking after the Tour Championship, which concludes on August 31.

Players must also have played at least 15 OWGR-rated events during the qualifying window.

Si Woo Kim currently leads the International standings, with Ryan Fox, Hideki Matsuyama, Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim and Adam Scott occupying the other projected automatic positions.

Corey Conners narrowly misses out as things stand, but the Canadian would be an extremely likely selection for Ogilvy.

Jason Day brings major championship pedigree and Presidents Cup experience, while Nico Echavarria, Ryo Hisatsune and Nick Taylor have each put themselves firmly into the conversation through their 2026 form.

Sungjae Im would also be difficult to overlook given his match-play record and previous International Team experience.
