The 2023 US Open will take place at Los Angeles Country Club in California from June 15-18.

Matt Fitzpatrick will be the defending champion after winning his first major with victory in the 2022 US Open at The Country Club at Brookline.

Where is the 2023 US Open taking place?

The 2023 US Open heads to California as Los Angeles Country Club stages the event on North Course.

It will be the first time the US Open has been held at the venue, which prepared for hosting the major by staging the 2017 Walker Cup.

The Country Club, which is a 36-hole facility with the North Course joined by the South Course, has previously played host to the 1930 US Women’s Amateur and 1954 US Junior Amateur.

Who is the reigning US Open champion?

Matt Fitzpatrick won the 2022 US Open at Brookline to become a major winner for the first time.

The Englishman had been crowned US Amateur Open champion at The Country Club nine years earlier in 2013.

Fitzpatrick finished on six-under par at Brookline to finish one shot clear of Will Zalatoris and Scottie Scheffler.

Who is the favourite for the US Open?

Matt Fitzpatrick has been installed as the ninth favourite to successively defend his US Open title in Los Angeles.

Former winners Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm are ahead of him in the betting along with major winners Justin Thomas and Scottie Scheffler.

Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Cameron Smith, Sam Burns and Collin Morikawa are also in the top 10 in the betting markets.
