The 2025 BMW Championship features a total prize money fund of $20 million for the second event of the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The tournament is the middle leg of three FedEx Cup Playoffs events on the 2025 PGA Tour calendar with a field of 49 players teeing it up.
The BMW Championship typically has the remaining top 50 on the season money list but Sepp Straka is sitting out the tournament for family reasons.
The BMW Championship takes place from August 14-17 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. The venue last held the tournament back in 2021.
The tournament as we know it was first staged in 2007 but prior to becoming the BMW Championship, the tournament was known as the Western Open and dates back to 1899.
The prize purse for the 2025 edition of the tournament is $20 million, the same as in 2024 when Keegan Bradley was crowned champion.
The winner of the 2025 BMW Championship will collect a hefty $3,600,000 for first place.
