The event was first held in 2019 as a new event on the PGA Tour calendar and this year will the eighth and final edition in 2026 after Rocket ends their sponsorship.
The tournament is played at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan, and is a key stop before the PGA Tour FedEx Playoffs.
Aldrich Potgeiter is the reigning champion having won the event in 2025. He is among the leading betting odds contenders for this year too.
Other former winners of the event include Nate Lashley, who won the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2019, Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and two-time champion Cameron Davis.

The Rocket Classic will be played over four rounds / 72 holes on the Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan, with a cut after the opening two rounds.
