The tournament is opening event of the Asian swing of the 2025 LPGA Tour season and is once again being played at Qizhong Garden Golf Club in Shanghai, China.
The Buick LPGA Shanghai was first held in 2018 and was staged twice before being cancelled in 2020-2022 due to the global pandemic.
Danielle Kang won the first two Buick LPGA Shanghai tournaments in 2018 and 2019, while Angel Yin lifted the title in 2023.
