The South African Open golf is a co-sanctioned tournament between the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour and is part of the International Swing of the season.
Last held in November 2023 as part of the end of year South African swing, it has moved to February in this year’s calendar.
The tournament, which was first held in 1903, moves from Blair Atholl Golf & Equestrian Estate in Johannesburg to Durban Country Club for the first time in 10 years.
The SA Open has been played at a number of other venues down the years including at the Gary Player in Sun City in 2021.
Former winners include Bobby Locke, Gary Player, Tony Johnstone, Mark McNulty, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh, Tim Clark, Trevor Immelman, Richard Sterne, Henrik Stenson, Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Thriston Lawrence.
The defending champion is Dean Burmester after victory when the tournament was held in 2023.
