Brandt Snedeker and Geoff Ogilvy will go head-to-head as captains when they lead the Team USA and the International Team at the 2026 Presidents Cup.
The two sides will meet at Medinah Country Club’s famed Course No. 3 in Illinois, with the United States defending the trophy after their victory over the Internationals at Royal Montreal in 2024.
The 2026 Presidents Cup will be the 16th edition of the competition and takes place at Medinah from September 22-27. It is the first time the event has been staged at the Chicago-area club.
Team USA 2026 Presidents Cup Captain (Brandt Snedeker)
Nine-time PGA Tour winner Brandt Snedeker will lead Team USA as they aim to retain the Presidents Cup on home soil.
Snedeker steps into the top job following his role as an assistant captain for the United States in the 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal.
He also added Ryder Cup leadership experience as a vice-captain at Bethpage Black in 2025.
The American represented the USA as a player in the 2013 Presidents Cup and twice in the Ryder Cup, appearing in the victorious 2016 Ryder Cup side at Hazeltine.
Snedeker’s playing career includes the 2012 FedExCup title, while he has recorded nine PGA Tour wins.
Snedeker has selected Jim Furyk, who guided Team USA to victory in Montreal in 2024, and Keegan Bradley, who captained the Americans at the 2025 Ryder Cup.
International Team 2026 Presidents Cup Captain (Geoff Ogilvy)
Geoff Ogilvy has been handed the task of leading the International Team as they attempt to end the USA’s recent dominance in the Presidents Cup.
The Australian becomes captain after building extensive experience within the International Team set-up.
Ogilvy played in three consecutive Presidents Cups in 2007, 2009 and 2011, before serving as a captain’s assistant across the last four editions of the contest.
Ogilvy was one of the standout players of his generation, winning eight times on the PGA Tour and claiming the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot.
He also has a significant link to the host venue, with his design firm involved in the restoration of Medinah’s Course No. 3.
His leadership team currently includes Colombia’s Camilo Villegas and former International captain Trevor Immelman, with two further assistant captain positions still to be filled.
Presidents Cup Teams
The 2026 Presidents Cup teams will each consist of six automatic qualifiers and six President Captains picks.
The USA automatic qualifying period ends on August 23, while the International side will be finalised after the Tour Championship on August 31.
