Adams IDEA woods are new for 2023, offering an easy to launch and highly forgiving option. How do the game-improving fairways perform?

Adams Golf is a huge name in golf, but there had been no new releases for more than 10 years since the brand was bought by TaylorMade Golf.

The brand is back now with the IDEA woods part of a complete series of that also includes driver, hybrids, irons and wedges with the range launched in 2023.

The Adams IDEA fairways are game-improving with new release aimed at for mid-handicap and high handicap golfers? We got our hands on the new model and tested it out.

Adams IDEA Fairway Woods Specs & Design

The Adams woods have been designed with handicap golfers in mind and they firmly sit in the hugely popular game-improvement sector with value for money the key.

These IDEA fairway woods have been design to provide maximum forgiveness, more carry distance and an overall better performance from tee to green.

The IDEAs have an classic black look and are produced from a multi-material construction that delivers impressive ball speeds and clean ball striking.

The face on the woods is variable thickness to maintain ball speeds, particularly on the off-center strikes that handicap golfers are prone to making.

The club also features a Velocity Slot behind the face, the same as the driver, to help increase the face flex and deliver more speed regardless of the strike.

Adams have managed to maximise the MOI in the new design to make the IDEAs easy to launch and generate the longest carry possible whether struck from the tee or fairway.

The unique Tri-Sole Design that appears in the IDEA irons is also incorporated into the woods with this element keeping turf interaction to a minimum to reduce any loss of clubhead speed.

The IDEA fairways are sold in three loft options: 15 degrees (3-wood), 18 degrees (5-wood) and 21 degrees (7-wood). There is no adjustable hosel in the woods.

Adams have combined the technologies user in the driver and irons into an excellent product in the shape of the woods.

Although this is a game-improving set of fairways, don’t let that make you think they aren’t long. They very definitely are.

They provide the sort of forgiveness that handicappers of 10+ need for those mishits and you should find that there is no loss of distance or carry.

All in all, the IDEA fairways a great package for the average golfer and won’t break the bank either.
