Buick LPGA Shanghai 2026: Who Are The Leading Betting Odds Favourites?

Atthaya Thitikul Bag

The 2026 Buick LPGA Shanghai takes place at Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China, from October 15‑18 with the world’s best teeing it up.

The tournament opens the LPGA Tour schedule‘s four-event Asian swing and offers a record $3.2 million purse to a star-studded field.

This year’s championship moves to Sheshan, creating a different challenge for players returning to the event in China.

The course will play as a par 72 measuring 6,735 yards, with an 81-player field competing over 72 holes.

Defending champion Jeeno Thitikul shares favouritism with last week’s Ladies European Tour winner Miyu Yamashita.

Home favourite Ruoning Yin leads the chasing pack ahead of Sei Young Kim, A Lim Kim and Auston Kim.

Leading Buick LPGA Shanghai Contenders

Jeeno Thitikul

Jeeno Thitikul returns as defending champion after a remarkable victory in 2025 when she recovered from four shots behind with five holes remaining to force a play-off against Minami Katsu, before winning on the fifth extra hole.

That performance demonstrated her ability to keep creating chances under pressure, but the move to Sheshan means last year’s victory is evidence of tournament pedigree rather than a winning record at this week’s course.

Ranked world No.2 in the pre-tournament field, Thitikul remains one of the strongest contenders to adapt quickly and challenge again.

Miyu Yamashita

Miyu Yamashita finished tied fourth in the 2025 Buick LPGA Shanghai at 17-under, seven shots behind the two play-off participants.

Although that result came at the previous venue, it provides an encouraging reference point as she attempts to turn a strong tournament performance into a title challenge at Sheshan.

Fresh off the back of victory in the Aramco Korea Championship, she is a major danger to Thitikul.

Ruoning Yin

Ruoning Yin is the leading Chinese player among the featured contenders as the world No.6 chases victory in front of her home supporters.

She will face the same adjustment to the new venue as the other returning players but if Yin establishes an early rhythm and keeps pace with Thitikul and Yamashita, the tournament could develop into a compelling home-title challenge.

Sei Young Kim

Sei Young Kim is the fourth top‑10 player in the field and offers plenty of each-way value in Shanghai this week.

With a new course to assess, an assured opening round could be particularly valuable in establishing confidence and mounting a title challenge for the South Korean.

A Lim Kim

A Lim Kim finished 10th in last year’s championship with her 15-under total nine shots behind Thitikul and Katsu, but comfortably inside the leading group.

That finish gives Kim a positive tournament reference, rather than direct Sheshan course form.

She is a credible challenger outside the front quartet if she improves on last year’s scoring and adapts effectively to the new layout.

Auston Kim

Auston Kim enters as world No.19, placing her among the higher-ranked players in a field containing 28 of the world’s top 50.

The American is in good form and an interesting alternative for punters looking beyond the most heavily favoured names.
