Callaway Quantum Drivers Are A Tri-Force For 2026 (5 Models Reviewed)

Callaway Quantum Drivers

The Callaway Quantum drivers series is new for 2026 with five models launched – the Max, Max D, Triple Diamond, TD Max and Max Fast.

The driver series is the successor to the Elyte drivers that debuted in 2025 and there are five new additions added in the Quantum series as part of an expanded offering.

The standard model will be the Max and is joined by a Max D for draw-bias, the Triple Diamond and more forgiving Triple Diamond Max. There is also a lightweight Max Fast version.

Callaway have introduced a new Tri-face design known as Tri-Force as the key technology change in the drivers, which are launched along with fairway woods and hybrids.

Pros & Cons

✅ Exceptional ball speeds, often hitting 160+ mph, positioning the series among 2026’s fastest drivers
✅ High forgiveness, especially in Max, Max D, and Triple Diamond Max models, with strong carry retention on off-center strikes
✅ Versatile adjustability via discrete rear weights for draw, neutral, or fade biases in most heads
✅ Tailored lineup suits broad swing profiles, from slower speeds (Max Fast) to tour-level (Triple Diamond)
✅ Powerful, solid impact feel surpassing prior Elyte drivers
❌ Marginal gains over Elyte predecessors fail to match “quantum leap” hype due to USGA speed limits
❌ Premium pricing exceeds many competitors, raising value questions for non-upgraders
❌ Max Fast lacks adjustability to prioritize lightness, limiting customization
❌ Strong draw bias in Max D may overcorrect for non-slicers

Callaway Quantum Max Driver Specs & Design

The Quantum Max is the main “core” model in the series with a broad target being aimed at the largest range of the market.

It replaces the previous standard Elyte head in Callaway’s lineup and is built to balance high forgiveness with strong ball speeds and mid spin.

The Quantum Max features a 460cc clubhead that is a fairly traditional with a confidence‑inspiring shape at address, moderate face depth and a subtle modern trailing‑edge profile.

The Tri‑Force Face is a new addition with a three‑layer structure combining a variable‑thickness titanium face, a ballistic‑style polymer mesh and a carbon composite outer layer.

It is designed to increase face flex and ball speed across more of the hitting area, especially on mishits and worked with new AI‑optimized face mapping to produce more consistent distance and tighter dispersion.

Advanced Perimeter Weighting (APW) in this model is pushed low and back for high MOI and easy launch, but with enough forward mass to prevent spin from ballooning for mid‑speed and higher‑speed players.

There are adjustable weight ports for neutral and draw settings and are interchangeable to allow change in setup for specific shot shapes.

The Max is available in 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with three degrees of adjustability from the Optifit Hosel.

Callaway Quantum Max D Driver Specs & Design

The Max D has the same clubhead design as the Max but is the the dedicated draw‑bias version for golfers who fight a slice.

The 460cc profile head shape has a slightly more elongated rear section and internal heel weighting that the Max to help provide a subtly more closed face at address to encourage a right‑to‑left start line.

As a result, it delivers a high‑launch, high‑forgiveness option for mid to high handicappers who need to eliminate the right miss from the tee box. It is, however, slightly higher on the spin rates than the Max.

It features Callaway’s new Tri‑Force Face combining three layers of a variable‑thickness titanium face, a ballistic‑style polymer mesh and a carbon composite outer layer.

The AI-designed face mapping now provides more consistent distance and tighter dispersion thanks to more flex and ball speed from all areas of the face.

There is no adjustable rear weight in the Max D with a discrete internal weight system instead in the heel-rear of the clubhead to help square the face at impact.

The Max D is sold in three loft options of 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with three degrees of adjustability from the Optifit Hosel.

Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Driver Specs & Design

The Quantum Triple Diamond driver is once again the compact tour model for better players seeking lower spin, a more penetrating flight and enhanced workability.

It is the natural successor to Ai Smoke Triple Diamond and Elyte Triple Diamond that have Callaway’s better‑player models over recent years.

The more compact look comes from a 450cc clubhead that has a slightly smaller front‑to‑back profile with a deeper face, giving a classic tour‑inspired shape at address.

The head sits more open to the eye and also appears more compact behind the ball, encouraging confidence for players who like to shape shots.

The Quantum TD uses a 360 degree carbon chassis plus the dual‑port discrete weighting, typically labeled neutral/fade, to maintain MOI while favouring players who like to see a slight fade.

At the rear of the clubhead the new Advanced Perimeter Weighting (APW) offers a 10g weight that can be position to fade or neutral positions to suit preferred ball flight.

Also present is the new Tri-face design known as Tri-Force with a three-layer design introduced as the successor to the Ai 10x Face technology from the Elyte version.

It features a variable‑thickness titanium face, a ballistic‑style polymer mesh and a carbon composite outer layer along with AI-face mapping for more performance from across all areas.

The Triple Diamond is available in three loft options of 8 degrees, 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees with three degrees of adjustability from the Optifit Hosel.

Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max Driver Specs & Design

The Max Triple Diamond version of the Quantum is near identical to the TD but is a more forgiving option for handicap golfers – bridging the gap between the Max and Triple Diamond.

This model blends tour‑style performance with more forgiveness and a larger footprint thanks the a 460cc, which still retains a more compact looks while offering a slightly bigger face and more back‑end volume.

Think of the Quantum TD Max as a low‑spin driver that remains playable for a wider range of abilities including a progressing mid‑handicap golfer moving towards a lower‑spin profile without diving straight into a 450cc head.

The Max TD uses the 360 degree carbon chassis and discrete weighting to keep CG relatively low and forward but not as aggressive as in Triple Diamond, and keeps a slightly open, neutral appearance.

As you might expect with more forgiveness on offer, MOI is noticeably higher than Triple Diamond, and off‑centre hits are not punish as much and retain more ball speed and directional stability.

It features the same weighting with fade and neutral ports as well as an interchangeable sole weight for adjusting setup for launch and carry distances.

The Tri‑Force Face is included in the new model with a three‑layer structure combining a variable‑thickness titanium face, a ballistic‑style polymer mesh, and a carbon composite outer layer for increase face flex and ball speed.

The Triple Diamond Max is available in two loft options of 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees with three degrees of adjustability from the Optifit Hosel.

Callaway Quantum Max Fast Driver Specs & Design

The Max Fast is carried over from the Elyte series as an ultralight model built specifically to boost swing speed and launch for players with moderate or slower swing speeds.

While containing many of the technologies from across the series, the Max Fast trades some adjustability for a big reduction in total club weight that helps generate the faster speed through the air.

This model is roughly 15% lighter than Quantum Max thanks to lighter head components, 360 degrees carbon chassis and lightweight grip and shaft choices.

The dual‑weight system is removed to shed more grams and the internal weighting is fixed and optimized for ease of launch and forgiveness.

The result is high launch with mid‑high spin, leveraging extra dynamic loft and higher clubhead speed from the lighter total weight to maximize carry for slower‑speed players.

The clubhead itself is a 460cc for confidence and features a shallower face profile and slightly elongated back section to sit square to slightly closed for more distance.

The Tri‑Force Face and three separate layers combined to help retain speed from low‑face and toe strikes common with players needing this type of lightweight driver.

The Max Fast is available in two loft options of 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with three degrees of adjustability from the Optifit Hosel.

Callaway Quantum Drivers Review: Are they any good?

Callaway’s Quantum move things forward from the Elyte range thanks to the revolutionary Tri-Force Face tech that genuinely boosts speed retention and launch consistency, particularly on off-center strikes.

The five-head lineup – spanning the forgiving Max to workable Triple Diamonds – ensures most golfers find a fit, with the Triple Diamond Max emerging as a versatile standout for its blend of low spin and added MOI.

While not a seismic upgrade from Elyte, the refined AI face tuning and carbon chassis deliver reliable, tour-validated performance that justifies upgrades for those prioritizing forgiveness and distance.
