Cleveland Golf have launched the HiBore XL Driver with a modern reimagining of its iconic design arriving on the market in late 2024.
The HiBore drivers were first released in 2006 when Cleveland broke new ground with a scooped-back design and wide body that – at the time – had never been seen before.
Fast forward 18 years on and Cleveland have released a modern-day version with cutting-edge technology aimed at delivering ultimate forgiveness and improved performance on the golf course.
This latest model is known as the HiBore XL driver and features both standard and Lite versions with a unique triangular shape, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) optimized features and unmatched distance and accuracy.

Cleveland HiBore XL Driver Specs & Design
The HiBore XL is Cleveland’s most forgiving driver yet, characterized by its mold-breaking triangular chassis that is a modern-day take on the original 2006 design.
This design, which replaces the Launcher XL 2 as Cleveland’s premium product, was specifically created to enhance forgiveness, allowing golfers to achieve better results even on less-than-perfect strikes.

By using A.I. to enlarge the face while maintaining low and deep weight distribution, Cleveland has successfully produced a driver that inspires confidence among players of all levels of ability.
The HiBore XL’s extra-large face provides a 19% increase in surface area compared to previous models, which translates into approximately 17 additional yards of distance on extreme off-center strikes and up to 24% fewer partially missed shots.
The tapered sides of the driver maintain head volume while enhancing its aerodynamic properties, contributing to its unique triangular shape.

A.I. simulation has also been used to enhance the chassis and sound profile, resulting in one of the largest ball-striking areas and tighter dispersion patterns on shots struck all around the face.
ActivWing Technology is integrated into the heel of the crown to enhance stability during the downswing and ensure consistent clubhead delivery at impact for improved distance consistency.
Cleveland’s MainFrame XL has been remapped in the new release to include a variable thickness face pattern that maximizes flex at impact. This enlarges the sweet spot and provides better energy transfer, increased ball speed, and added forgiveness.

A 12g Adjustable Sole Weight is place low and deep in the driver for a higher launch angle and improved Moment of Inertia (MOI).
The driver comes in 8.5 degrees, 9.5 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees lofts with up to 1.5 degrees of adjustability from the hosel sleeve.
The HiBore XL Lite version of the driver has maximum weight savings and draw bias to suit golfers who struggle with a slice or leak shots to the right.

Verdict: Cleveland HiBore XL Driver Review
By combining innovative design and advanced technology with old school design concepts, Cleveland have come up with something unique in the HiBore XL drivers.
The new release offers a driver that not only enhances performance but also instills confidence with every swing with increased distance and improved accuracy.
A lightweight head and lighter components to help maximize performance for moderate swing speed players in particular and it will suit mid-handicappers as well as better level players.
The inclusion of HiBore XL Lite, which features draw-biased weighting to assist golfers who need a little more help correcting their slice, is a smart move following the success of that model in the Launcher XL 2 series.
