Nine years after winning the US Amateur Open at The Country Club at Brookline, Fitzpatrick lifting the US Open title with a one-shot victory.
It was a master performance on the final round with Fitzpatrick hitting 17 of the 18 greens in regulation to keep the chasing pack at bay, and he will be the defending champion at the 2023 US Open.
The latest victory moved Fitzpatrick up to 10th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
It was an eighth career win for Fitzpatrick, and his first stateside.
The Englishman had previously won the 2015 British Masters, 2016 Nordea Masters, 2016 and 2020 DP World Tour Championship, 2017 and 2018 Omega European Masters and 2021 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters.
Fitzpatrick is also a two-time Ryder Cup representative for Team Europe, playing in both 2016 and 2021.
