Varner III birdied the final hole at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC to seal his first LIV Golf victory with a one-shot victory over Branden Grace.

Varner made the switch to LIV Golf in 2022 and this represented his biggest victory in monetary terms of his entire career.

In February 2022, the American holed a 120-foot putt for eagle on the last hole at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club to win the Saudi International on the Asian Tour.

His only previous professional win came in the 2016 Australasian PGA Championship.
