Jim Furyk Named As United States Captain For 2027 Ryder Cup

Jim Furyk 2027 Ryder Cup Captain

Jim Furyk has been named as captain of the United States Team for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland.

Furyk, who previously led Team USA at Le Golf National in 2018, will get a second chance to captain his country as the Americans look to reclaim the trophy on European soil.

The 55-year-old succeeds Keegan Bradley, who led the home side in defeat at Bethpage Black in 2025, and becomes just the fourth American in the modern era to captain the Ryder Cup team more than once.

Furyk joins Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Davis Love III as those to captain USA multiple times.

Adare Manor will host the 46th Ryder Cup from September 13-19, 2027, the first time the famous Irish venue has staged the biennial contest.

European captaincy for 2027 will remain in the hands of Luke Donald, who has led Europe to two straight victories after wins in Rome in 2023 and at Bethpage Black in 2025.

Jim Furyk 2027 Ryder Cup Reaction

“The opportunity to captain the U.S. Ryder Cup Team for a second time is a tremendous honor,” said Furyk after the announcement.

“I am deeply grateful to the PGA of America Ryder Cup Committee for entrusting me to lead our team into the 46th Ryder Cup at Adare Manor. My passion for the Ryder Cup and dedication to the U.S. team have never been stronger.

“Having previously captained the team, I understand the responsibilities and immense pride that come with this role. I am committed to putting our players in the best position to succeed as we work to reclaim the Cup on European soil.”

Furyk has been heavily involved in recent editions of the event, serving as a vice captain multiple times and joining Keegan Bradley’s backroom team for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

Jim Furyk Ryder Cup Record

Furyk made his Ryder Cup debut in 1997 and went on to appear in nine consecutive editions of the match, becoming one of the United States’ most experienced performers in the contest.

Across those appearances, he compiled an overall playing record of 10-20-4, but featured on just two winning U.S. sides in 1999 at Brookline and 2008 at Valhalla.

He then captained the team in 2018 at Le Golf National, where Europe recorded a 17.5-10.5 victory in Paris, the third-largest defeat suffered by the Americans in Ryder Cup history.

Despite that setback, Furyk has remained a prominent figure in the U.S. set-up, trusted for his experience, calm leadership and close relationships with multiple generations of American players.
