Jin Young Ko secured her second win of the year when winning the Cognizant Founders Cup in May 2023. A look at Jin Young Ko: What’s In The Bag.

South Korea’s Ko dropped to fifth from number one in the world since winning the 2022 HSBC Women’s World Championship in 2022, but she ended year-long drought by successfully defending her title March

Ko shot a final round of three-under par to finish on 17-under at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore. She won the title by two shots from Nelly Korda.

She made it two wins for the year in the Founders Cup at Upper Montclair Country Club as she beat Minjee Lee in a play-off after both had ended the week on 13-under par in New Jersey.

It was also Ko’s third win in the Founders Cup.

It was the 26th professional win of Ko’s career and her 15th LPGA Tour title, including her two major victories in the ANA Inspiration and Evian Championship in 2019.

Ko’s other LPGA Tour wins came in the 2017 LPGA KEB–Hana Bank Championship, 2018 ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open, 2019 Bank of Hope Founders Cup and 2019 CP Women’s Open.

She also triumphed at the 2020 CME Group Tour Championship, the Volunteers of America Classic, Cambia Portland Classic, Cognizant Founders Cup, BMW Ladies Championship and CME Group Tour Championship in 2021 and 2022 HSBC Women’s World Championship.

On the LPGA of Korea Tour, Ko has won the 2014 Nefs Masterpiece, the Nexen-Saint Nine Masters, KyoChon Honey Ladies Open and Chojung Sparkling-Yongpyong Resort Open in 2015, KG-Edaily Ladies Open, BMW Ladies Championship and Hite Jinro Championship in 2016, Jeju Samdasoo Masters and BMW Ladies Championship in 2017 and 2019 Hite Jinro Championship.

Ko was ranked third in the Rolex Rankings for the World Women’s Golf Standings before the win in the Founders Cup.
