Having made the cut on the line, Highsmith produced a sublime weekend performance of back-to-back rounds of 64 to win the Cognizant Classic by two shots.
The American left-hander finished on 19-under par on the Champions Course at PGA National, two clear of Jacob Bridgeman and JJ Spaun in Florida.
Highsmith was two-time all-American during his college career at Pepperdine University and was part of the United States’ Junior Presidents Cup team in 2017.
He turned professional in 2022 and played on the PGA Tour Canada initially and the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023 before securing his PGA Tour card in 2024.
