Sweden’s Strom was well adrift of the field ahead of the final round of the 2024 ShopRite LPGA Classic but stormed home for a one-shot success.
A stunning 11-under par round of 60 at the Bay Course at Seaview Resort saw Strom finish on 14-under par and pip Ayaka Furue and Megan Khang by a single shot.
The victory was Strom’s first on the LPGA Tour and moved her up 72 places to 93rd in the Rolex Rankings world standings.
Strom is a two-time Epson Tour winner having won the 2018 Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge and 2022 IOA Championship.
The Swede was denied a Ladies European Tour victory when losing out to Ashleigh Buhai in the play-off at the Aramco Team Series Sotogrande in 2021.
