The Swede had never won on the Ladies European Tour but a dramatic closing eagle sealed a one-shot victory in the Helsingborg Open.
The eagle helped Pettersson to five-under for the final round and 11-under for the week, which was enough for a one-shot victory over Ana Pelaez
Pettersson twice went close to victory last year, finishing as runner-up in the Skafto Open and Aland 100 Ladies Open in Sweden.
Her only win since turning professional came in the 2018 Swedish Matchplay Championship, while she came through the Epson Tour in the United States after graduating from college.
Prior to the win, Pettersson was ranked 347th in the Rolex Rankings.
