Ping G430 Max 10K Driver Review (NEW for 2024)

Ping G430 Max 10K Driver Review

The Ping G430 Max 10K driver has been released as a new 2024 model, adding to the hugely successful G430 range. What is different with this version?

Since being launched at the start of the 2023, the four G430 models – the Max, LST (Low Spin Technology), SFT (Straight Flight Technology) and HL (High Launch) – have been a real hit.

Now the most forgiving version yet has hit the market after the G430 Max 10K was unveiled as the latest version and a new driver for 2024.

How does the G430 Max differ from the existing G430 drivers? What technologies have Ping incorporated? We detail everything you need to know.

Ping G430 Max 10K Driver Specs & Features

The Ping G430 10K model has been launched to take the already-impressive forgiveness of the Max model to the next level.

Ping have incorporated everything good about the Max and LST models of the G430 series into their most forgiving yet in the shape of the 10K driver.

The G430 Max 10K has the largest profile of the series, pushing the USGA regulations close to the limit as a 460cc driver, and has a slightly elongated look as a result compared to the other models.

The alteration in shape has allowed Ping to place a fixed back weight to optimise the center of gravity, increase the forgiveness and become the company’s first driver to break the 10,000 g-cm² threshold for MOI.

That is where the 10K name comes from and a new ultralite Carbonfly Wrap crown has also played a part by bringing down the overall weight to allow the CG to pushed back.

Coupled with a shallower and thinner forged T9S+ titanium face that flexes more than other models and has the Spinsistency technology incorporated, the G430 Max 10K is now the more forgiving Ping driver ever released.

The combination of materials used in the clubhead have resulted in this G430 making a louder sound upon ball strike than the existing models.

The G430 10K driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with 1.5 degrees of adjustability in each direction available.

There is also a G430 10K HL (High Launch) version available to suit golfers with slower swing speeds.

Ping G430 10K Driver Review: Is it any good?

There’s no doubting how good the G430 drivers have been over the last year since launch, and now there is a new kid in town.

The 10K is the most forgiving version yet with the best of the Max and LST models combined in this extremely stable driver.

Ping’s development team have pushed the boundaries to get the G430 through the 10K barrier of MOI and the result is seriously impressive. Looking, straight and more consistent as a result, we have another winner on the shelves.

What Ping says about the new G430 Max 10K driver:

“It’s called MAX 10K because it eclipses the 10,000 g-cm² combined MOI threshold, setting a record and making it our straightest and most forgiving driver ever.

“A fixed backweight, our largest head profile, and a Carbonfly Wrap crown help G430 MAX 10K launch the ball higher with less spin for consistently longer and straighter results.

“The fixed back weight allows for the record-setting MOI as it drives mass down and back to increase forgiveness and optimize the center of gravity position, lowering spin and ensuring ball speed preservation across the clubface for added distance.

“PING’s biggest head profile to date maximizes the USGA-allowable heel-toe and front-back dimensions while staying within the 460cc volume limit.

“This eye-pleasing shape helps square you to the target and inspires confidence to hit longer, straighter tee shots.

“An ultra-lightweight composite crown wraps into the heel and toe sections of the skirt. Weight savings are reallocated to lower the CG, reduce spin and raise MOI for increased ball speed.

“The shallower and thinner forged T9S+ titanium face is optimized for more flexing to ensure faster ball speeds and relies on Spinsistency, a variable roll radius innovation, to optimize spin across the entire face for added distance.”
