Scotty Cameron Newport Putter Review

Scotty Cameron Newport

The Scotty Cameron Newport putter is one of the most iconic on the market. GolfReviewsGuide.com review the latest version of the classic blade.

Part of Scotty Cameron’s Special Select range, the Newport is the most traditional of the putters. It is accompanied by the Newport 2 and Newport 2.5 models.

With a new balanced weighting design and customisable sole weights, the Newport has been crafted for the perfect balance. It no surprise that it is this model that Kirkland mimicked for the design of KS1 putter.

What Scotty Cameron say about the Newport putter:

“Evolving the curvy, compact setup of this classic blade design, the Special Select Newport is crafted from solid milled 303 stainless steel without an insert and with new performance balanced tungsten sole weighting for a larger sweet spot and increased stability.

“The revamped plumbing neck allows for better alignment and setup with freer visual access to the flatter, narrower topline, while a new, cascading concave second tier knocks down reflection and provides a ‘melt-into-the-ground’ appearance at address.

“The Select line’s iconic three red dot theme continues with elegant new Tour-inspired ‘cherry rings’ reminiscent of legendary tournament-winning models.”

The result of the tweak in the neck means a full view of the putter head is now available when standing over the ball.

The solid milled 303 stainless steel blade features tungsten sole weights for a balanced feel.

The weights differ in shaft length with 2 x 40 gram weights in the 33″ putter, 2 x 35 gram weights in the 34″ option and 2 x 30 grams in the 35″ version.
