Sungjae Im: What’s In The Bag

Sungjae Im

Sungjae Im claimed his sixth career win when landing the title at the Woori Financial Group Championship in May 2023. A look at Sungjae Im: What’s In The Bag.

Im headed back home to South Korea for the Woori Financial Group Championship and the decision paid dividends as he secured a one-shot victory over Jun Seok Lee.

The South Korean opted to play in the Korean PGA Tour event over the AT&T Byron Nelson and his 10-under par total earned him victory in his homeland.

Im won twice on the then Web.com Tour in the 2018 The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic and 2018 WinCo Foods Portland Open to secure his pathway to the PGA Tour.

It was a year in which he was named Player of the Year on the Web.com Tour and he awarded the PGA Tour’s Rookie of the Year award the following year in 2018/19.

His next win came on the Korean Tour in the 2019 Genesis Championship before the two PGA Tour successes in the 2020 The Honda Classic and 2021 Shriners Children’s Open.

Im remains 18th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
