Singh was finally winning the end-of-year father/son championship at the 16th attempt as he landed the prize with son Qass at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Florida.

The duo posted identical rounds of 59 in the PNC Championship to finish on 26-under par across the two rounds. They finished two shots clear of John Daly and son John Jr and Justin Thomas and father Mike.

It was the latest win in Singh’s illustrious career and took his career tally to 65 victories since turning professional in 1982.

The Fijian won three majors – the 1998 and 2004 USPGA Championship and the Masters in 2000.

Singh’s other PGA Tour wins came in the 1993, 1995, 2006 and 2008 Buick Classic, 1995 and 2003 Phoenix Open, 1997 and 2004 Buick Open, 1997 Memorial Tournament, 1998 Sprint International, 1999 Honda Classic, 2002, 2004 and 2005 Houston Open, 2002 Tour Championship, 2003 Byron Nelson Championship, 2003 John Deere Classic and 2003 Funai Classic.

He also won the 2004 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, 2004 HP Classic of New Orleans, 2004 and 2008 Deutsche Bank Championship, 2004 Canadian Open, 2004 Lumber Classic, 2004 Chrysler Championship, 2005 Sony Open in Hawaii, 2005 Wachovia Championship, 2007 Mercedes-Benz Championship, 2007 Arnold Palmer Invitational and 2008 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

Singh also has European Tour wins in the 1989 Volvo Open Championship, 1990 El Bosque Open, 1992 Turespana Masters Open de Andalucia, 1992 German Open, 1994 Scandinavian Masters, 1994 Trophee Lancome, 1997 South African Open, 2001 Malaysian Open and 2001 Singapore Masters.

Singh also has Asian Tour wins on his CV in the 1995 Passport Open, 2000 Taiwan Open and 2007 Korea Open, victory in the 1993 Bell’s Cup on the Sunshine Tour, a win in the 1992 Malaysian Open on the Asia Golf Circuit, titles in the 1988 and 1989 Nigerian Open, the 1989 Zimbabwe Open and 1989 Ivory Coast Open in the Safari Circuit and the 1988 Länsförsäkringar Open on the Swedish Golf Tour wins.

Other wins include the 1984 Malaysian PGA Championship the 1991 Hassan II Golf Trophy, the World Match Play Championship, the 1998 Johnnie Walker Super Tour, the 2001 and 2003 Telus Skins Game and the 2008 Chevron World Challenge.
