Titleist SM10 Vokey Wedges Specs & Design

The changes made to the SM10s from the SM9s with the design tweaks more evolutionary than revolutionary.

That’s perhaps hardly surprising when Titleist have already got one of the best selling wedges on the market.

At the heart of the Vokey Design SM10 wedges is the patented Spin Milled groove technology, which has been improved to provide maximum spin and control.

In the new model, the precise engineering process features each groove cut to the edge for optimal performance.

There are deeper grooves in lower lofts (46-54 degrees) and shallower grooves in 56-62 degrees. In between each groove are “micro grooves” for the ultimate face control.

The new wedges feature a progressive center of gravity which is uniquely calibrated for each loft, enhancing flight, accuracy and forgiveness in equal measure in the SM10s.

Additionally, the localized heat treatment on the impact area of the wedges doubles the durability of the grooves, ensuring long-lasting performance.

The lofts range from 46-62 degrees with a variety of lofts available across six different grinds – D, F, K, M, S and T.

D grind is for players with a steep angle of attack, F grind in multi-purpose, K grind is for soft conditions, M grind best suits a shallower swing path, S grind has a full sole and suits firm conditions and the new T grind has low bounce and a narrow sole.

The wedges are sold in three separate colour options once again with the SM10 wedges available in Chrome, Raw, Black and Brushed Steel.

Titleist SM10 Vokey Wedges Review: Are they any good?

The wedges have a similar look to the Titleist SM9 Vokeys that have been the most played wedge on tour for a reason.

The enhanced flighting and feel has been achieved thanks to the shifted center of gravity, and it ensures all golfers have a greater command over approach shots.

The durability, coupled with the advanced groove design, means that these wedges not only perform at a high level but maintain that performance over time. Keep it spinning time after time.

“Optimising the position of the centre of gravity (CG) is one of the keys to producing the best flight, accuracy and forgiveness in a wedge. SM10 features a progressive CG that is individually calibrated for each loft for maximum performance.

“In the higher lofts, the CG has shifted both higher and forward toward the face. This move produces lower, more controlled flight with greater stability. Combined with increased MOI, SM10 delivers exceptional feel and consistency.

“The patented Spin Milled grooves in SM10 are meticulously engineered through a proprietary cutting process. Each groove is individually cut based on loft and finish; with narrower, deeper grooves in lower lofts (46°-54°) and wider, shallower grooves in higher lofts (56°-62°).”
