TaylorMade P770 Aged Copper Irons Review

TaylorMade P770 Aged Copper irons have been launched as a limited-edition version of the model, celebrating the manufacturer’s heritage in the 2024 release.

A sleek P770 Phantom Black model was released in 2023, and an Aged Copper version joins the P770 series as a nod to the classic 1980s designs.

The Aged Copper design features all the same technologies as the standard model including the thinnest face yet and a new intelligent sweet spot that has been moved progressively through the back.

TaylorMade have also ensured the SpeedFoam Air in the clubhead is 69% less dense for performance that matches the classy look of the copper.

TaylorMade P770 Aged Copper rons Specs & Design

The P770 irons are TaylorMade’s tour-spec model and an Aged Copper option joins the standard and Phantom Black designs.

The Copper model has been added to the range for a limited time along with P790s, with the look underlining the heritage of the brand.

The irons feature an “Intelligent Sweet Spot” that moves through the back thanks tothe FLTD CG, a technology feature that positions the centre of gravity lower in the long irons and progressively higher as you go through the bag.

The forged 4140 steel face is the thinnest ever used in a P770 irons, while TaylorMade have removed offset from the long irons and made the blade length shorter than the P790 irons.

The forged hollow body design, constructed from soft 8620 carbon steel, continues to feature the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket for flexibility.

The SpeedFoam Air, which is inside the clubhead, has been made 69% less dense that the previous version of the P770s to help generate greater clubhead speeds.

Each iron also includes 46g of tungsten included to create an optimal lie and launch angle.

The Copper P770s are available in 4-iron (22.5 degrees), 5-iron (25.5 degrees), 6-iron (29.0 degrees), 7-iron (33.0 degrees), 8-iron (37.0 degrees), 9-iron (41.0 degrees) and Pitching Wedge (46.0 degrees).
