The event is played on the TPC Louisiana in Avondale, Louisiana, and is the latest event of the 2023 PGA Tour season.

The tournament is a unique two-man event with 80 teams competing for the prestigious prize. It first became a team event in 2017.

Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are the reigning champions after winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2022.

The event was first held in 1938 as the Crescent City Open and has been staged continuously since 1958 under a number of different names.

The tournament has been known as the New Orleans Open, Greater New Orleans Open Invitational, First NBC New Orleans Open, Greater New Orleans Open, USF&G New Orleans Open, USF&G Classic, Freeport-McMoRan Golf Classic, Freeport-McDermott Classic, Compaq Classic of New Orleans, HP Classic of New Orleans and Zurich Classic of New Orleans since 2005.

Previous champions of the current two-man team format include Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith, Billy Horschel and Scott Piercy, Ryan Palmer and Jon Rahm and Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith.

Zurich Classic of New Orleans Golf Format & Schedule

Zurich Classic of New Orleans will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, Louisiana.

Eighty teams will compete across the opening two days with the top 33 and ties making the cut and playing the weekend.

The opening round and third round is played in Fourball format with Foursomes on day two and for the final round.

• Day 2 – Friday, April 21 (Foursomes)
• Day 3 – Saturday, April 22 (Fourballs)
• Day 4 – Sunday, April 23 (Foursomes)

The tournament carries a total prize fund of $8,300,000 USD.
