Tony Finau: What’s In The Bag
What is in Tony Finau's bag?
Tony Finau claimed his second win in as many weeks when triumphing at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in July 2022. A look at Tony Finau: What’s In The Bag.
A week after producing a final round of four-under par at TPC Twin Cities to win the 3M Open by three shots from Sung-Jae Im and Emiliano Grillo, Finau took the Rocket Mortgage Classic title by five shots after a closing five-under par round at Detroit Golf Club.
Finau finished on 26-under par in the Rocket Mortgage Classic to see of Patrick Cantlay into second place, setting a new tournament record score in the process.
It was the fourth PGA Tour victory over Finau’s career and moved the American up to 13th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
The first win of Finau’s career came on the then Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry) when taking the title at the Stonebrae Classic in 2014.
Two years later, Finau was a PGA Tour winner as he triumphed at the 2016 Puerto Rico Open.
He had to wait more than five years for his second PGA Tour title, however, which came in the 2021 Northern Trust Open before back-to-back wins in the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
