The Spaniard claimed a play-off victory in his home event, beating compatriot Jon Rahm at the second extra hole at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
The pair had finished on 14-under par in the Open de Espana with Hidalgo recovering from missing a short putt to take the victory outright.
Hidalgo had not won in three years with his last victory coming in the 2021 Big Green Egg German Challenge on the Challenge Tour.
The Spaniard also won twice on the Alps Tour in 2021 when lifting the titles at the Ein Bay Open and Memorial Giorgio Bordoni.
