Callaway ERC Soft Balls Review

Callaway ERC Soft Ball

Callaway ERC Soft balls are the longest ball the manufacturer has produced with a soft feel, and significantly feature the new Triple Track Technology for the first time.

Named after Ely Reeves Callaway, the founder of the company, the ERC Soft has a new cover and core which has helped extract more distance compared to the Chrome Soft.

It is the first of the Callaway balls to have Triple Track Technology, a trio of lines on the ball which aim to help golfers with alignment and hole more putts.

NEW FOR 2023: Review of the Callaway ERC Soft 360 Balls

What Callaway say about the ERC Soft balls:

“ERC Soft has completely reinvented how a distance ball performs with our new innovative Hybrid Cover.

“This multi-material cover creates an exceptional combination of faster ball speeds for longer distance, incredibly soft feel, and noticeably higher spin for excellent control around the green.

“In the ERC Soft, we’ve designed our largest ever Graphene-infused Dual SoftFast Core. This groundbreaking technology features a larger inner core that maximizes compression energy while minimizing driver-spin and promoting high launch for long distance.

“We’ve prominently featured Triple Track lines on the ball for improved putting accuracy. Triple Track uses Vernier Visual Acuity to improve alignment compared to a regular side stamp alignment aid.

“Ely Reeves Callaway, the founder of Callaway Golf, was a visionary and an innovator in golf. He was a creator, a facilitator and a force for change. Ely powers our passion for developing revolutionary products, and ERC Soft is a ball so singular and special that there’s only one name worthy of stamping on its cover.”

Callaway ERC Soft Balls Design

Innovation has been the key feature in the design of the brand new Callaway ERC Soft golf ball.

The ERC – named after company founder Ely Reeves Callaway – is sold as a distance-enhancing ball and aimed at players looking for a soft ball, but to also find more length off the tee and from fairways.

Callaway brand the ERC as their longest ball with a soft feel, and that is important because it isn’t all about distance. The balls provides plenty of spin and control around greens and from your short game too.

The ERC has a similar structure to the popular Callaway Chrome Soft with graphene dual-soft fast core. The core is, however, larger in the ERC Soft.

New features include a hybrid cover of materials which helps increase ball speed, and what Callaway call Triple Track Technology, three lines on half the ball to help alignment on the greens.

Callaway ERC Soft Balls Verdict

Not only do the ERC balls give a nod to the rich Callaway history with their name, they are also a high performing ball for the future too.

Impressive technological developments of the core and cover have allowed Callaway to squeeze out more distance without compromising on the soft feel of the ball.

The Triple Track Technology is an interesting addition. A lot of golfers draw lines on their balls for help on the putting green. Now Callaway do it for you with three alignment lines, and do it accurately rather than by hand! It could be game changer if you struggle to line putts up.
