How To Adjust Bridgestone Tour B XD Drivers (Adjustment Guide – Loft & Lie)

How To Adjust a Bridgestone Tour B XD Driver

Need to know how to adjust a Bridgestone XD driver to switch the loft and lie angles? We have a complete guide and adjustment chart covering the Tour B XD-3, XD-5 and XD-7 drivers.

The adjustable versions of the Bridgestone Tour B XD drivers feature an eight-position hosel, allowing you to change the face angle and lie angle.

Each model also has interchangeable sole weights for additional ball-flight tuning.

The amount of driver adjustment you can make differs from brand to brand but the step-by-step guide below shows you how the Bridgestone XD driver series can be adjusted.

The Tour B XD-3 and XD-7 models are both available in 9.5 degrees and 10.5 degrees. The XD-5 is available in 8.5 degrees, 9.5 degrees and 10.5 degrees.

Adjusting The Loft Angle of a Bridgestone Tour B XD Driver

1. Locate the hosel screw on the sole of your driver. Make sure you are working on the screw securing the shaft to the head, rather than one of the sole weights.

2. Insert the correct wrench and turn it anticlockwise. Loosen the screw until the head can separate from the shaft sleeve. You do not need to force the screw completely out of the head.

3. Gently lift the head away from the shaft sleeve. Do not twist or force the components if they do not release easily.

4. Rotate the sleeve to your chosen position to select the required face-angle and lie combination, then align the sleeve marking with the indicator on the head.

5. Refit the shaft sleeve fully into the head. The components should seat correctly without being forced together.

6. Tighten the screw clockwise using the correct torque wrench. Stop when the wrench reaches its specified release point or clicks. Do not continue tightening after that signal.

7. Repeat the process whenever you want to select a different hosel position. Make one change at a time and test the result before making another adjustment.

Adjusting The Sole Weights On Bridgestone XD Drivers

The XD drivers also offer interchangeable sole weights, giving you another way to tune the club’s performance.

The original range was supplied with weight options of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 grams and can be interchanged to get the desired setup and balance.

Moving more weight towards the heel encourages a draw bias, while moving it towards the toe encourages a fade bias.

Use only compatible weights and follow the tightening instructions for the weight screws. Do not assume the sole weights require the same tightening torque as the hosel screw.
