Baldwin first joined the DP World Tour in 2012, but victory had escaped him until landing the SDC Championship title in South Africa on what was his 200th start.

Baldwin was dominant at St Francis Bay as he won the event, which is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour, by seven shots from Adri Arnaus after finishing on 18-under par for the weekend.

Before joining the European Tour, Englishman Baldwin graduated from the Challenge Tour.

He claimed his only previous professional win in 2011 Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana and also lost out in a playoff in the 2019 ISPS Handa World Invitational on the Challenge Tour.

Before his win in South Africa, Baldwin was ranked 501st in the Official World Golf Rankings. He jumped up to 283rd in the world.
