Mizuno JPX921 Forged Irons Review

Mizuno JPX921 Irons

Mizuno JPX921 Forged irons will be released in September after the manufacturer released a teaser video on social media.

Mizuno’s teaser came with the wording “FASTER. FORGED. FIRST. #JPX921 17.09.20” with September the release date mentioned in the post.

The video shows a smoking iron head carrying the JPX921 name but no other details from Mizuno other than the slogan of being faster, forged and first.

The new JPX921 are expected to be the next generation of the Mizuno JPX919 Forged irons that have been incredibly popular on both tour and in the bags of amateur golfers.

The JPX919s were described as the fastest ever forged iron from Mizuno, but it looks like that has been surpassed in the new range given the slogan used.

Mizuno had targetted a high-ball flight and distance in the JPX919 irons, but will we see even more performance extracted from the JPX921s?

The 919s have a CNC milled face and larger area of minimum face thickness, to help move the centre of gravity deeper. That in turn helped optimise the ball flight.

Where will Mizuno have made further gains in the JPX921 irons? We’ll have to wait until September to find out.
