The 27-year-old became the first Danish winner on the LPGA Tour after successfully winning a play-off with China’s Lin Ziyu at the Siam Country Club Old Course at Pattaya.

A five-under par final round saw Koertsz Madsen post a tournament record 26-under, before an eagle on the second extra hole saw her finally claim victory.

It was Koertsz Madsen’s six professional tournament win after also triumphing on the A6 Ladies Open in Sweden as an amateur, the Symetra Classic, Fuccillo Kia Championship and Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic on the Symetra Tour and Tipsport Golf Masters in the Ladies European Tour.

Koertsz Madsen was also part of the European winning team at the 2021 Solheim Cup.
