Nick Dunlap created history as the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour when landing victory at The American Express in January 2024. A look at Nick Dunlap: What’s In The Bag.

The 20-year-old was playing in the 2024 The American Express as a sponsors exemption and he underlined his talent with a one-shot victory over Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

Dunlap finished on 29-under, which included a record-breaking 12-under par third round, to become the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour since Phil Mickelson in 1991.

It was just his fourth start on the tour and the victory made his the second youngest winner since World War II, behind Jordan Spieth.

The University of Alabama golfer has won the 2021 US Junior Amateur Championship and the 2023 US Amateur during his collegiate career.

Dunlap also scored wins in the Dustin Johnson World Junior and AJGA Polo Golf Junior Classic in 2021 and the Linger Longer Invitational, Northeast Amateur, North and South Amateur and SEC Stroke Play in 2023.
