OnCore Avant 55 Golf Ball Review (2-PIECE Soft Ball)

OnCore Avant 55 Golf Ball Review

The OnCore Avant 55 golf ball is budget two-piece ball aimed at golfers with moderate to slow swing speeds. How does this super soft ball with an ultra-low 55 compression perform?

The names gives away the compression, which is just 55 in this low cost ball aimed at maximising distance for golfers who struggle for yards.

Despite having a larger core, the Avant 55 provides a soft feel around the greens and on the putting surface for all round performance at a fraction of the cost of some rival brands.

It is marketed specifically at lady golfers, juniors and senior players with slower swing speeds, but how does it perform on the course. We took them out for a test with our thoughts below.

OnCore Avant 55 Golf Ball Design & Features

The OnCore Avant 55 ball is a two-piece design designed for seniors, juniors and newcomers to the game of golf who have slower swing speeds and need a boost in distance and feel

The ball features a large inner core for added stability off the tee, a stable trajectory in windy conditions and high lofting shots into the green thanks to a high launch angle.

The core has been designed to limited sideways spin of the tee and keep those fades and slices close to the fairways and greens.

The ball utilises SoftCell technology to achieve ultra-low 55 compression, which puts it among the softest on the market and there not require a much clubhead speed to generate ball speed.

The large inner core creates high MOI for great control and accuracy, while the soft surlyn cover – which features a 318 dimple pattern – creates the soft feel around the greens and off the putter face.

OnCore Avant 55 Golf Ball Review: Are the balls any good?

First things first. These are incredibly cheap and you will love the price point because there isn’t a ball that is more value for money that this one.

It is super soft, similar to the Callaway Supersoft ball, where you hardly feel it come off the clubface. That wasn’t ideal when struck at more than 80mph.

At slower swing speeds this is a real top-class performer and one of the best golf balls for the money. If you swing faster, then consider the sister models the Vero X1 or Elixr.

Overall, this is a good starter point ball or an ideal option for junior, ladies and seniors who have those slower swing speeds. You can expect some strong performance in distance, accuracy and feel.
